It has been five years since I last featured Born Sinner on the website. If you have not read my previous articles and are unfamiliar with the band, they are based out of New York City and are known for a sound that balances between late '80s hardcore and crossover. To provide you with a clearer understanding, Born Sinner lists albums such as Born to Expire and Liberty and Justice For... as significant influences.

Born Sinner's self-titled 4-song demo was released in 2018, and in 2019, when they intended to follow it up with another EP, they were abruptly halted in the midst of the recording session due to the global pandemic. Ultimately, the only two tracks that were fully completed during this session, "Stagnation" and "Pressure Weighs," were released in 2020 as a seven-inch single.

As of 2025, vocalist Bryan Valdivia, bassist Darren Nanos, and rhythm guitarist Conor Hickey have expanded their lineup to include lead guitarist Kuté Tonge and drummer Dante Fotino. Their new EP, which has been recorded over the years since their last release, is titled Changin’ Times, and it has just become available on streaming platforms.

To help spread the word about Changin' Times, No Echo has collaborated with Born Sinner to unveil the George Underwood-directed music video for the song "Gimme Some" from the EP:

"The lyrics draw from personal struggles, deep reflections, and social insights," vocalist Bryan told No Echo. "The content in the lyrics are things that, as an adult, I look for in bands that I admire.

"Darren has written a few songs and has been a supportive presence in my songwriting journey. It’s nice having someone who shares the same fundamental feelings I feel towards this world and things."

If you're in the NYC area, Born Sinner will be playing alongside Dmize, Bazooka, Fröthing Mad, and No Weapon at Gold Sounds in Brooklyn on October 24th. Get tickets for the show at this link.
