Band: Zashed
From:Searcy, Arkansas
Their formation story:
"We became a band in January of 2022. We mostly were playing covers around our hometown of Searcy, Arkansas for our friends and whoever else wanted to come to shows. Having known each other from high school and college, we were all very dedicated to the band and each other.
:We weren’t playing heavy music at the time but one show at Growlers in Memphis completely changed the direction of Zashed and we haven’t looked back since."
Their sound in their own words:
"Southern metallic hardcore. Our biggest influences are Knocked Loose, Gojira, and Rage Against the Machine."
Latest release info:
"This was our first studio release. It was done at Wolfman Recordings in Little Rock, Arkansas and mixing and mastering produced by Ryan Bram at Homewrecker Studios in Tucson, Arizona. I have always admired records that are completely up for interpretation and this record is that.
"It is about hate and intolerance festering and growing in the South and how it has overstayed its welcome. This record is to call it the fuck out. What exactly that means is up to you. "
Future plans:
"We plan on playing a ton of shows both local and non-local this summer. Getting a van and kickass gear is definitely high up on that list too. The next step release wise is to keep writing songs and see how it evolves from there."
What other bands from their region should we check out?
"Arkansas is a state that is chock full of talent. Open Kasket, Heldtight, and Kill Order are all bands killing it on the hardcore side of things. Tiny Towns, Go For Gold, and Salon Blonde make kickass pop-punk music and deserve all the love in the world. And those are just to name a few.
"The Little Rock and NWA scene make Arkansas a great place to be in and that is really something special."
