Band: Take the Shot

Their formation story:
(Karenna, vocals): "It's kind of a long story. I personally really wanted to be in a hardcore band since high school, but I really needed help from other people. So, I made a not-great demo with a classmate that composed my ideas. Tt's still on streaming, called 'Your Neck (Demo).' I gave it to our former guitarist, Ethan, to mix it and do some tweaks, and then we released it under the name Take the Shot.
"Our lead guitarist, Rylan, wanted to be involved once he heard it, and I believe that Ethan (former guitarist) asked our bassist, Jameson, and then me, and Rylan asked our drummer, Seven. Seven and Rylan used to be in a death metal band called Congested, so that kind of worked out."
Their sound in their own words:
"We are a cluster fuck of everything becasue we all listen to different types of heavy music. I think a lot of our influences come from recent hardcore bands like Mortality Rate and Candy. But I think we try to keep the overall messaging as older hardcore bands like Youth of Today and Alone In a Crowd."
Latest release info:
(Jameson, bass): "We released a 5-song EP at the beginning of the New Year, titled No Moral Code, recorded and released independently. Our old guitarist Ethan recorded us at our practice space and mixed and mastered the songs. The cover art was done by Zach Halfhill from Guerilla Bizkits/Heartattack."
Future plans:
(Jameson): "We are in the process of recording a small promo with new songs. Depending on when this is published, it might already be out. If not, it will be out soon. Besides that, playing more shows, and writing more music."
(Karenna): "We have only played one show outside of Nashville, and we will hopefully do more weekenders. And also, please listen to promo 2025 if it is out."
