New Hardcore Band Spotlight: Street Policy

Band: Street Policy
From: Pacific Northwest

Their formation story:
(Tyler Zoucha, Drums): "Our previous band, Crooked, was in a state of limbo trying to figure out what we were going to do after our singer’s departure. The 4 of us wanting to do something heavier, started writing some new material that we were super stoked on.

"Being selective of our next move for a singer, we recruited Chase from the Portland hardcore band Purity on vocals and it just clicked."

Their sound in their own words:
"We make music for fans of World of Pain, Gaijin, and Pain of Truth."

Latest release info:
(Chase Murphy, vocals): "We just released a self titled EP with all our singles plus a new one called 'Lightweight.' I wrote 'Lightweight' for myself and all my big homies in mind.

"I wanted to write something that empowered us 2X shirt-wearing dudes out there, rather than writing a song about putting myself down for the way I look, never let someone smaller than you tell you how you should look. I let my gut hang and nuts swang."

Future plans:
"Continue writing and recording. Definitely working on playing more shows outside of the Pacific Northwest."

What other bands from their region that we should check out"
"Oregon: Slime, These Fucking Hands, Boltcutter, Foes, Hard Pill, Time Void, Misery Whip, and Guilt Tradition.

"Washington: Room 13, Full Choke, Kurb, Skelm, and Juji Gatame.

"So many great bands from the PNW out here crushin' it."
