Their formation story:
(Rob Galdamez, vocals): "Outpost 31 is a Texan Crossover band featuring members of Will to Live and The Burden. The band was born to pay homage to all things mid-'80s thrash, as well as all things Horror, especially John Carpenter’s 1982 masterpiece, The Thing.
"The band originally started as a long-distance project with singer Rob Galdámez (Will to Live) and Jacob Henderson (Bitter End) trading catchy demos back-and-forth that inevitably grew into a full band. With Jacob living in Ohio and Rob in Texas, the latter enlisted the help of fellow Texas Hardcore veterans Caleb Butler, James Rynearson, and Chris Gentile on guitars.
"With plenty of common history together and tenure in the local heavy music scene, this lineup solidified and is the current Outpost 31 formation today."

"Taking influences from early versions of Metallica, Exodus, Nuclear Assault, and Sepultura, among others, Outpost 31 delivers a catchy sound that draws from the energy of hardcore punk with the grit and ferocity of thrash."
Latest release info:
"The band recorded their first album titled Isolation with Craig Douglas at Origin Sound in Spring, Texas over the Summer of 2025. Released on all major streaming platforms January 1, 2026, Isolation offers eight tracks based around the band’s favorite scenes from The Thing that will make you headbang, mosh, and want to go back and re-watch the movie.
"Featuring artwork by Mexican artist Rick Zesati, the album is an audio-visual ode to mid-'80s thrash, crossover, hardcore, and John Carpenter’s The Thing."
Future plans:
"With Isolation being released on all streaming platforms as of January 1, 2026, the band is looking to play some shows wherever people want to mosh and headbang in the U.S. or abroad. Secondly, if the situation is right, we'd love to do a physical release sometime soon. We already have the art ready for when that opportunity comes around. Down the line, a second release... time will tell."
