Band: JUGG
From: Providence, Rhode Island
Their formation story:
"We first became active in August 2022 with our self-titled EP. JUGG grew out of years of friendship and many different projects. Evan and Tayte have been homies since middle school and met Jay and then Cam some years later. Evan, Tayte and Jay have done a number of grind and hardcore adjacent projects while Cam, Jay, and Tayte have been doing hip-hop together for over 10 years. The band started with Evan on guitar and Tayte on drums.
"All of us hanging out naturally after some time Cam wanted to start writing lyrics and try out hardcore vocals. Later our good friend from other previous projects Matt Levigne joined in on bass. After a short run following the first EP life took some turns and we took a hiatus. Returning in late 2024 Jason joined the band and Tayte moved to bass."
Their sound in their own words:
"Hardcore inspired by outliers of the genre. I think a big part of what shapes our sound is how broad a spectrum each of our tastes in music for example Jay being more into deathcore and beatdown is showcased by his style in our newer stuff.
"Evan, who grew up listening to late '80s to '90s and '00s hardcore, is heavily inspired by bands like Leeway, Snapcase, and Backtrack."
Latest release info:
"'1000 Skull Fragments' is our latest single released Sept 2025 is featured on our upcoming EP, Come Outside. One of the higher energy tracks off this EP we thought would be a nice leak of what’s to come."
Future plans:
"Come Outside EP Release TBA, '1000 Skull Fragments,' and a new version of 'Come Outside' (Track 2) as the self-titled track. 6 Songs, 5 of them brand new and 1 completely revamped with the new lineup. Featuring Mike from REAL flhc on track 6 titled 'Big Dawg' to wrap up the project."
What other bands from their region should we check out?
