New Hardcore Band Spotlight: Endless Vacation

Band: Endless Vacation
From: Detroit, Michigan

Their formation story:
(Marky, guitar): "Jerry (drums) and I (guitar), both from Detroit punk band The Red Shift, started hitting up shows at a local hardcore venue (shout out to Edgemen Printing). At one of the gigs, they ran into Vaux (bass), who used to be one of Marky's students.

"While catching up, Marky mentioned they were putting together a new band: something fast, short, and aggressive, with samples woven into the set. Vaux was in on the spot. All that was missing was a voice with enough punch to front the band. They reached out to Pauly (vocals) from St. Thomas Boys Academy to come yell into a mic, and just like that, the Vacation began."

Their sound in their own words:
"We consider our music Punk for the Hardcore, Hardcore for the Punks and Weird for the Weirdos. If you like downstrokes and gang vocals, Endless Vacation is for you."

Latest release info:
"EV Pt. 1 is our debut six-song release. It covers everything from social media-fueled crime to aging in the scene, the tragic death of a beloved restaurant mascot, and we even throw in a Mad Max reference. We recorded it in May at Rancho Recordo in Fenton, Michigan, with Marc Jacob Hudson at the helm; he helped bring the chaos to life."

Future plans:
"Our first show was in June at Garden Bowl in Detroit. We have a few shows lined up for the late summer and early fall, and plan to play out of the Detroit area in the near future. Endless Vacation also plans to release our second EP early next year."

What other bands from their region should we check out?
"It’s a very exciting time in Detroit and all across Michigan for punk and hardcore.  A few bands everyone should have on their radar are Bad Beat, Kings Command, Sissy Boys, Aggro or Die, and Love Fool."
