Their formation Story:
(Jordan, vocals): "Vince (guitar) and Martin (drums) met as teenagers in Fuengirola, southern Spain, and immediately bonded over a shared passion for hardcore punk. With similar influences, they quickly started jamming together in Martin’s parents’ basement. They eventually went their separate ways, with Martin moving to Denmark and Vince to Germany to pursue other goals, although they have always remained close.
"Just before the pandemic, both returned to southern Spain for the lifestyle and to be closer to family. It was then that they decided to reconnect musically and finally start the project they had always talked about. They formed Safety Last with other local musicians, where both Vince and Martin played guitar.
"In late 2025, Safety Last split due to creative differences. Still motivated to make music together, Vince and Martin went back to their original teenage setup, with Martin on drums and Vince on guitar. After completing four instrumental tracks, they began searching for a vocalist.
With a limited local scene, they looked beyond their immediate surroundings, aiming to find the right voice regardless of location. Prioritizing the sound over convenience, they opened the search globally.
"I found the guys through them sharing their vocalist search on social media. I submitted a demo, and it quickly became clear that all three of us shared the same reference points for making this type of music, and we gelled pretty instantly."
Their sound in their own words:
"Our sound is high-energy, riff-driven hardcore punk, heavily influenced by bands such as Every Time I Die, Cancer Bats, and Gallows. I think we blend rock 'n' roll riffs with the urgency of punk and pepper them with the dissonance and off-kilter phrasing of mathcore. The final product is frenetic and dynamic, yet maintains a keen sense of groove and melody."
Latest release info:
"Our first EP is called Dinner Leftovers, as it was largely constructed from riffs that hadn't been used in Vince and Martin's previous band. As an initial release, I think it serves as a confident mission statement for the band. I think every song works to demonstrate the range of sounds we explore while maintaining a strong throughline throughout the EP, and at just over 10 minutes, it accomplishes this without overstaying its welcome.
"Lyrically, I basically laid out a synopsis of the things that keep me awake at night or have held me back in life. Addiction, the complexity of living in bittersweet moments, existing through the end of the world, existential dread, frantically trying to make yourself relevant, and the fear of the unknown. It's certainly a wordy EP, so I'm able to cover a lot of ground in 10 minutes."
Future plans:
"Over the coming months, our plans are to continue to define what Corporate Job is to us and discover what it can become. We've already begun working on our sophomore release and discussing what other sonic palettes we'd like to sample from. We've found that we work incredibly well together despite the immense distance between us, and our sensibilities complement each other nicely. As such, making as much music as we can is certainly the mission statement. In the long run, getting to the point where we can play live and actually meet in person is definitely a goal of ours."
What other bands from their region should we check out?
"Well, I've been made to understand that southern Spain doesn't have much of a local scene, which I guess is how I ended up in the band. Where I'm from in Ontario, Canada, however, there's a thriving hardcore scene that I also take part in. Bands such as Slewfoot, Dambe, Windoc, Prison, Mace, and Enhanced Lethal Abilities make it an incredible place to be into this type of music."
