Hailing from Huntington, West Virginia, meet Torches From Above. The group's sound is melodic post-hardcore with gruff vocals floating above it all.
Torches From Above recently joined the roster of Outer Orbit Records, who will be issuing their debut full-length album, I Don’t Feel Closer to You Here, this November. The LP was recorded and produced by Neil Tuuri at Amish Electric Chair Studios, "the album captures the raw emotional weight of loss, grief, self-doubt, acceptance, and growth—a sound that’s both sonically heavy and emotionally resonant."
No Echo has teamed up with Torches From Above to help premiere the music video for "Slow Down" a track from their forthcoming album. The track features guest vocals from Jesse Zaraska of Misery Signals:
Torches From Above bassist/vocalist Dwayne Hinkle shared the following about the song:
"'Slow Down' is about how easy it is to ignore the plight of people of different ethnicities and backgrounds as long as that plight doesn't affect your day to day life. The song is a reminder of the importance of standing against poor treatment human beings face for no other reason than what they look like, where they're from, and who they love.
"Sonically, 'Slow Down' draws heavy influences from post-hardcore bands like Thursday, Touche Amore, and Defeater. Jesse and I share similar humanitarian values and when I reached out to him with the lyrics, he was immediately on board to be a part of the track."
