Upstate Records (Nailed Down, Built for Battle) have just added another band to the label's growing family. This time out, they've signed Before I Had Wings, the Western Massachusetts outfit known for their violent brand of metallic hardcore. Some folks might even refer to the quintet's musical output as "beatdown," and hey, I'm not going to argue with that!

Formed in 2009, Before I Had Wings have been working hard throughout the entire time, dropping several records, including their most recent releases, Dethroned (2016) and Life Has Left Us Cold (2017), which were both distributed through Germany's Filled With Hate label. Now with Upstate Records in their corner, the band are poised for even bigger things in the coming years.

With their 10th anniversary coming in 2019, Before I Had Wings are busy in the lab working on material for their next full-length release, and their debut for their new label. Take a listen to Life Has Left Us Cold below to soak in the brutality that is the BIHW sound.

In addition to their next studio album, Before I Had Wings will be hitting European soil for the first time in June with Full Contact, another hardcore band with 10-ton-hammer-like guitar riffs. Once they return to US soil, the band will be heading to the West Coast for another run of live dates.
