Band: Zero Sum
From: Nashville, Tennessee
Their formation story:
(Daniel, bass): "J, Dave, and Kathryn all knew each other through punk shit in Nashville. Daniel moved to Nashville and reconnected with Kathryn around the time her old band, Thirdface, was breaking up. The only thing we really talked about before our first practice was wanting to play 'fast hardcore.' We started writing in August of ‘25 and played our first show on 12/3/25, from which the demo is pulled."
Their sound in their own words:
(J, guitar): "Fast American Hardcore Punk."
Latest release info:
(J): "Die Fast Live! Is a live demo from our first show at drkmttr with Stress Positions, Commitment, and Human Shield. Our goal was to capture the live energy that is so crucial to all of our favorite hardcore records and get a demo out as fast as possible. It was recorded live off the board by our friend Billy Campbell and mastered by Will Killingsworth at Dead Air Studios."
Future plans:
(J): "We are already working on new songs for whatever the next recording will be, and our calendar is starting to fill up with both local and regional shows. The next ones are on 3/20 at The Firehouse in Birmingham, AL, and 3/30 at DRKMTTR in Nashville."
What other bands from their region should we check out?
"Woundflower, Human Shield, Yammerjaw, Thetan, Dres Code, Bolt Swallower, Impediment, Heartattack, Make Yourself At Home, Total Wife, Baby Wave, Family Dog, and Green Tip."
