Band: Teeth First

Their formation story:
(Josh Schultze, vocals): "Teeth First started in the spring of 2025 when Jason Brooks (guitar) and Giles Walls (drums) connected through Facebook, looking to start a hardcore band. A few months later, Noah Ellis (bass) joined after meeting Giles at a barbershop, and I came aboard through a Craigslist ad. That lineup originally performed under the name Miscreant.
"It was a struggle finding people who shared the same motivation for hardcore and the same ethics and values, which are important to us. As we started finding our sound, we decided to leave the old name behind—it had been created with former members—and took inspiration from one of Giles' previous projects, Feet First. That's how Teeth First was born."
Their sound in their own words:
"Our earlier material pulled from hardcore, punk, metalcore, metal, and death metal, but we're really honing in on a heavy hardcore/beatdown sound now. The band's visual style is rooted in raw, authentic, minimalist street art, with a lot of influence from skateboarding.
"Our biggest influences include Sunami, Gulch, Two-Piece, The Runts, Ceremony, and Boundaries."
Latest release info:
"Our newest release is the single 'Red Leaves,' which captures the hardcore/beatdown sound and raw energy we're aiming for. The song is about heartbreak and struggle, inspired by personal hardships that I recently overcame. It's a snapshot of a period filled with hatred and self-loathing."
Future plans:
"None of the members of Teeth First are originally from Colorado, so we're focused on building stronger connections within the Denver hardcore scene while also branching out beyond the state. We're continuing to write new music, and we already have three more singles—recorded during the same sessions as 'Red Leaves'—that will be released over the next few months."
