Their formation story:
(Bobby Waterman, guitars): "Brett Sabo had posted on his IG story asking if anyone he knew was interested in starting a heavy band. When I saw the post, my son had recently been born and I was awake with him at 2am, waiting for him to be asleep enough to put back in his crib. I deliriously responded that I'd be down without even thinking about it too much, and we started getting together regularly to work on material.

"Brett is a long-time drummer but always intended to be a vocalist for this project. We worked out the skeletons of the songs with Brett on drums, then got Tim Balch involved to handle drums after seeing him ripping with his thrash band Brandish. The 3 of us work really well together and have a great time doing it, so for now the formula is that I handle the guitar and bass parts and we recruit another string player as necessary for shows."

Their sound in their own words:
"FFO would include Chat Pile, Deftones, and Snapcase. Some influences for all of us that come through in the music are Blacklisted, Converge, Kyuss/QOTSA, but we all have pretty broad tastes. Brett listens to a lot of Oi!, hip-hop, and reggae, Tim is a big Glassjaw and Bear Vs. Shark fan, I am into all that stuff as well but also a sucker for some math rock, punk, jazz - so it's a mixed bag.

"Our sound/style is pretty bass-driven with the low end as the meat and potatoes of the riffs, and the guitars adding spice and texture, weaving in and out between locking up with the bass and doing their own thing. Tim has a pretty disciplined drumming background, so he nicely incorporates some grooves that can be atypical for the genre.

"Brett's vocals are what really bring in the classic hardcore feel and wrap it all into a nice sludgy melodic hardcore package."

Latest release info:
"The new release is our first ever, so it's just 2 out of the 8 songs we have. We recorded everything DIY and had my friend Jack Hubbell mix and master it. It somewhat bookends the rest of the material as the first song is pretty much straight forward in your face the whole time, and the second one is fairly dynamic in the energy and grooves but remains relentlessly heavy.

"The yet to be released material has odd-time riffs, two-steps, breakdowns - so Demo 2025 is a nice introduction to our sound."

Future plans:
"We have some shows booked in Reading, Pennsylvania and Keyport, New Jersey, and are going to organize a hometown show in Lansdale ASAP, which we are super excited for. A couple recording engineers in our circle have expressed interest in recording some more tracks with us so we will be working that into the schedule as well. More music, more art, more everything."

What other bands from their region should we check out?
"Brandish, FLPSDE, L.M.I., Convent, probably 100 others I'm forgetting. We are lucky to have a great local scene."
