Band: Hard Lessons
From: Aalborg, Denmark
Their formation story:
"Hard Lessons is a hardcore band from the Northern part of Denmark. We started back in 2020 as a 2-man studio project during the pandemic. Back then it was just two friends, who wanted to play some hardcore and have a good time.
"When we were finally able to play shows, we decided that we wanted to become a band with a full line-up. So we recruited friends to the band and the rest is history."
Their sound in their own words:
"We have many influences, to be honest. Basically we just want to make music that we think sounds cool. We have a common love for hardcore, in all it’s branches. Metallic hardcore is where we find most of our inspiration—It has to be heavy and hardhitting. It’s a must for us!"
Latest release info:
“MMXX is our first EP. We made these songs when we were just a 2-piece. We were figuring stuff out as we went along, trying out different ways of recording as well as experimenting a lot with the composition of the songs. We’re a DIY band, so all the recordings, mixing and mastering has been done by us.
"We felt the final product was good enough to be released. Obviously, it’s been a learning process and we’ve learned a lot since then. Being more active as a band means we're able to raise the bar music-wise, so our upcoming releases will be faster and heavier."
Future plans:
"We are currently putting our final touches on the tracks for a new release. After that, we hit the studio. We’re planning to drop this new release as soon as possible, so stay tuned for that!
"As of now, more shows/tours are in the works (we will be announcing more as soon as possible). The plan is to play shows all over Europe and play as many shows as possible. For now, we’re playing at the Odense Metal Festival in October alongside bands like Ryker's and No Turning Back."
What other bands from their region should we check out?
"The Danish scene is growing stronger and honestly, there are so many great bands! Omsorg is a great band on the rise! They deserve all the exposure they can get, so go check em’ out! Earn Your Scars is another amazing band! They kick some serious ass. Go show them some love."
