Band: Dream X World
From: Czech Republic
Their formation story:
(Jakub, vocals): “Tom (bass) and I decided to start this project at the beginning of 2026. I knew I wanted to do vocals, so all that was left was to find a drummer and a guitarist. Marian (drums) and Ilja (guitar) were obvious choices because they’re our friends and share our values. They instantly agreed, and Dream X World was born.
“Our first show was in May as part of Unreal Tournament Fest in Prague.”
Their sound in their own words:
“Our sound is rooted in ’90s bands, with some influences from the ‘modern’ wave of hardcore. I think you can even hear a touch of thrash metal. Our music features groovy riffs, two-steps, mosh parts, and melodic guitars.
“For fans of Ecostrike, Mindforce, Magnitude, and Envision.”
Latest release info:
“This release includes the first songs I ever wrote for a future straight edge project two years ago, and they’re finally out. Lyrically, it covers topics ranging from veganism and friendship to personal rebirth through straight edge.
“When Freedom Dies was released through Poland’s Youth2Youth and Germany’s Passion Means Struggle.”
Future plans:
“We have one show left this year in Vienna. We’re only able to play a few shows per year because Ilja currently lives in Berlin and all of us are busy with our other bands, but we want to release more music next year. We’re also planning a small run with our friends in Pace.”
What other bands from their region should we check out?
“You should definitely check out a new straight edge band called Pace, one of my all-time favorite Czech bands called Protijed, and other amazing bands from Czechia like Mindgaze, Hever, and Split the Needle.”
