Formed in 2016, Younglove is a Santa Cruz-based band who isn't trying to reinvent the hardcore wheel. The five tracks on their newly released Forsaken Will EP is chock-full of palm-muted guitar riffs fit for inclusion on any Triple-B Records release, while the breakdowns are plenty and catchy as fuck.
The standout moment on the new EP is its closer, "As I...," an angry little bastard of a track. Opening with a blastbeat-driven riff, the song then introduces a mid-tempo section that frontman Sam Cardona quickly breaks into with his hoarse vocal lines. It's all mean-sounding and definitely appealing in its straight-forwardness.
