Paradise is a hardcore band out of Texas I became an instant fan of when I heard their 2024 demo. Hit this link for more on that.
But the reason I'm bringing them up today is that they've hit us with nee music today, and it's one of the best EPs of the year so far. "We primarily focused on writing in the beginning of the year, and then we began recording in May," bassist Trish told me yesterday during a quick catch-up chat about their ferocious new EP.
"We invited our friend Marcel to fill in for a Narrow Head show we played on New Year’s, and it went really well so we asked him to join the band as a permanent member and now there are 6 of us. He’s been in a lot of incredible Texas bands so we’re stoked he joined."
Yes, Paradise are now a sextet, and according to Trish, everyone was firing on all cylinders in the studio. "Marcel’s leads really elevated the tracks and Cory executed his drumming flawlessly here. Then, the combination of [engineer] Phillip Odom's new studio, Bad Wolf Records, and [mixer and mastering engineer] Arthur Rizk’s production brought everything together better than we could’ve imagined."
Record label folks should take notice, as Paradise are still free agents and looking to get out there more. "For now, we’re putting the EP on our own, but if the stars align in the future with a label we vibe with, we’d love to get something physical out there.
"As for being active, we’re taking it all as it comes and pretty open to playing wherever. We'll hopefully go out on East and West Coast runs in 2026."
