Escalation of Force first appeared on No Echo in a New Hardcore Band Spotlight last year. "I’d say musically the band sounds like Merauder, Hatebreed, and Dying Fetus, or at least those were the bands I had in mind while writing it," is what vocalist Tj Ulin told me about the Detroit outfit's sound at the time.
At the time, Escalation of Force was pushing their War Mentality promo, and since then, the band has played many shows around their region, and recently returned with a mean-sounding EP called Justice Through Violence.
One of the songs on the new EP is called "This Hate" and features Critter of fellow Michigan maulers Ante Up in the guest spot. The Kfree Edits-direct music video for the track shows love for the spinkickers in attendance and can be seen below in all its violent glory:
Tj sent me the following thoughts about the song:
“'This Hate' was the last song written for 'Justice Through Violence.' When Turk (guitar) sent it to me I knew exactly what I wanted to do with the song, it just clicked. I knew we had to do one of those catchy/memorable parts in the beginning of the song and build off of that. The video was shot at our album release show at Edgemen Screen Printing."
