Blood Built Empire: Trio Explores Tense/Aggressive Textures on “The Gun” (PREMIERE)

As ominous as their band name is, you wouldn't be crazy to expect Blood Built Empire to sound somewhere in the ballpark of Earache Records, circa 1991. But the Somerville, MA-based power trio have more in common with the tense and aggressive dynamics groups like Drive Like Jehu and Mclusky also favored.

Formed in 2017, Blood Built Empire is comprised of husband/wife Jared Marsh (vocals/guitar) and Deb Grant (bass/vocals), along with drummer Rob Adams, and while they're all huge fans of the heavier side of the musical spectrum, this is the first time they've explored it in a band setting.

Last last year, Blood Built Empire entered Mystic Valley Recording Studio in Bedford, MA to work with Alex Garcia-Rivera (American Nightmare, Converge). The results will be heard on the band's new EP, Fractured. Take a liten to "The Gun" from the forthcoming 6-track collection below:

Fractured will be arriving on Jan. 10 on all digital outlets, but if you want a copy on 12" vinyl, order a copy directly from the band. Blood Built Empire on social media: Facebook | Instagram | Bandcamp
