Their formation story:
(Firnaz, guitar): "Right on Target is a metallic hardcore/metalcore band from Surabaya, formed in late 2024. The original lineup includes Neo on vocals, Nezami on bass, Bernard on drums, and myself on guitar. In early April 2025, Rafi joined the band as our second guitarist, which really helped us push our sound further and brought a new energy to the group."
Their sound in their own words:
"To be honest, it wasn't easy at first to find the perfect sound for us. We started off listening to bands like Kickback and Arkangel back then, those two bands really become the foundation of our sound.
"As time goes by, we started to dig deeper into late '90s metalcore and also the H8000 scene. Labels like Good Life Recordings, Dark Sun Records, and Alveran Records were a huge influence for us to establish our sound."
Latest release info:
"Earlier this year we released Demo 2025, which features two tracks: 'Consumed By Hatred' and 'Endless Torture.' These songs really define who we are as a band—furious, raw, and built around crushing riffs. Lyrically, we’re inspired by real stories and experiences around us. We write about anger, frustration, and emotional struggles. Things that come from our environment, our day-to-day reality.
"We recorded the demo at Texas Sicklab Studio, and it was mixed and mastered by Indra Cahya (Komenk). The intro section was crafted by Herlambang Permana, who added traditional cultural elements to our sound. Visually, the artwork and layout were done by Creeping Fiends, and we think it perfectly reflects the dark and aggressive atmosphere we aim for.
"We recently started working with UK-based record label The Coming Strife, for the international release of Demo 2025 on cassette tape. It’s a big step for us to get our music out to audiences beyond Indonesia, and we’re really stoked about the partnership."
Future plans:
"In the future, we are planning to release an EP containing 4 new songs. If all goes well, we're planning to release it towards the end of 2025. Hopefully we could play outside the countries as well!"
