Band: Make Way
From: London, UK
Their formation story:
(Sacha, vocals): “Since I moved to London in August 2024, just after I turned 16, I’ve wanted to start a straight edge band inspired by the music I love, which proved to be really difficult in the London scene. When I met Oscar, we agreed on doing a band, and the rest of it just fell into place from there!”
Their sound in their own words:
(Sacha): “Lockin’ Out, Breakdown, Stand Hard Records stuff, maybe a little bit of the '97 revival sound sometimes?”
(Ozzy, drums): “Carry On but happier.”
(Sabrina, guitar): “Lockin’ out with a bit of Oi!”
Latest release info:
(Sacha): “We wrote the London Hardcore demo pretty fast, like a month or two from conception to recording, it’s really just hardcore the way we think it should sound. I write words to be sung by everyone and not to be analyzed too hard, y’know?
“It’s just a hardcore demo. I’m sure I’ll accidentally write something meaningful one day, but it all stems from me getting annoyed at the shit I see around me at shows and in the world in the juvenile way that a 17-year-old does.”
Future plans:
(Sacha): “Sell out hard as we can, water bottles and fanny packs coming soon. On a serious note, we’re gonna start writing the EP, which will hopefully be out sometime near the end of the year.”
(Sabrina): “Our future plans are becoming krishnacore.”
(Charlie, bass): “More music, more shows.”
What other bands from their region should we check out?
(Sacha): “Listen to IronXCurtain, one of London’s best ever, sad I never got to see them play.”
(Sabrina): “Listen to Dambuster and Mashaal.”
(Charlie): “Listen to Bullet, Agency, Mashaal, and Impermanent.”
London Hardcore is available on cassette via Conviction Records.
