Band: Last Embrace
From: Bangor, Maine
Their formation story:
(Anthony Brown, vocals): "In the winter of 2024, Scott (guitar) and I wanted to start a new hardcore project as stuff with our other band was winding down a bit. Last Embrace had existed once as a solo project I did, but I was never successful in building an actual band out of it, so we decided to just reboot the name Last Embrace and run with it."
Their sound in their own words:
"We try to mix a heavier vibe that you find in modern bands like Missing Link or God's Hate with some groove thrown in to keep it interesting. Collectively our biggest influences would be 100 Demons, Hatebreed, Merauder, and All Out War.
"Chances are if you like Hatebreed, Missing Link, or God's Hate, you’re probably going to dig us."
Latest release info:
"'Brothers Keeper' is our new single. It was the first song we wrote after we dropped our demo back in May. Scott just sent us a rough demo one night, and besides a few minor tweaks Josh (drums) and I made, it’s essentially the same song. As far as lyrical content, it’s the classic story about a close friend who grows to hate you out of jealousy.
"I knew I wanted Brandon from Pure Bliss to guest on it before I even had lyrics done, cause I wanted some serious heaviness to the vocals and he beyond delivered. While it’s a standalone single, I’d say it’s a good representation of our sound moving forward."
Future plans:
"Our next show is a benefit for Maine-based artist/photographer Ryan Eyestone who was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year. It’s with Cruel Hand, Infernal Diatribe, and a few others. That’s November 2nd in Old Town. Past that, we have a few more shows to announce for the rest of 2025, we wanna start work on a new EP, and make our way around the rest of the Northeast."
What other bands from their region should we check out?
"I gotta be shameless and plug my other band, Forked Tongue, that I play guitar in. On top of that, I gotta give love to Fake Smile, Free to Think, Corrective Measure, Mortar, Stab, and Half Step.
"Most of all gotta give all of our love to Kathy Kave, Jamie Way, Adam Edge, and Chris Link for all the work they have done for Maine Hardcore."
