Band: Jailbird
From: Virginia
Their formation story:
(Corey Dodson, bass): "We all were actually in another project together a few years ago. We didn’t like the direction, so the four of us figured we could do something that felt more organic."
Their sound in their own words:
"To be honest, our sound/style is constantly changing. If you check the demo and then the EP, they’re completely different. In regards to influences for this particular release, I'd have to say Out Cold, Bad Eric, Direct Threat, Consec, and Step Forward."
Latest release info:
"The EP is a collection of songs I demoed in my makeshift 'closet under the stairs' studio last summer. They were all just riffs and beats in my head that started to flow together when I actually got time to sit down and let it all out. Then when the boys got ahold of them, they got faster and the tone was tweaked just right. Jesse just had to add the cherry on top with the lyrics and thats that.
"We hit up Josh at Armageddon Records right after we finished the mix and master and he was just as hype as we were. We are really thankful that a dope ass label not only fucks with our music but wants to put it out. SHOUTOUT ARMAGEDDON RECORDS.”
Future plans:
"Right now we got a couple shows lined up, but alot of us are super busy with booking shows, weddings, work, and medical stuff. So we’ll be spending alot the next 6 months writing. Truth be told, we think we’re gonna take a shot at recording a LP in the mid-late winter of 2026. So be on the lookout."
What other bands from their region should we check out?
"SHOUT OUT TO EVERY BAND WE’VE PLAYED WITH. GO CHECK OUT:
"Bato, Reckoning Force, Self-inflict, Thought Control, Homemade Speed, Axon, K9, Stockpile, Invertebrates, Illiterates, ID Shock, Cicada, Coyote, Earth to Heaven, Yankee Bastard, Lucky Feeling, Lose Sight, Sultry, Copperhead, Jealous God, The Sissy Boys, Vicious Order, Super Reg, Circle 5, Coin Toss, Arrogants, and Spikepit (VA).
VA IS ALWAYS ON TOP."
The EP is available on cassette via Armageddon Records.
