Band: Fight on Sight
From: Hamilton, Ontario

Their formation story:
"Hillairy and Tom had been debating starting a band for a while and after Dan Sekulovski of Cohezion encouraged them, the plan got put into motion. They started to look for members and started writing some instrumentals.

"Hill and Christian were introduced at a BBQ at Kenedi’s house and it was brought up that Christian was looking to play guitar in a band and it just clicked. When looking for a vocalist, Christian and Hillairy remembered Kenedi once saying that she wanted to front a hardcore band and they thought that she would be a perfect fit."

Their sound in their own words:
"Our influences come from all over the place so it’s hard to put a finger on our sound, but at the end of the day we make music for the dancers. Our sound is changing and evolving. As it sits right now we’ve got metallic leads, groovy riffs, two-step beats, and heavy breakdowns. Our songs are short, and to the point."

Latest release info:
"Our first release was recorded and mixed by Andy Dmytryshyn at Schoolhouse and was mixed by Jamie King. It was a great experience and we highly recommend working with Andy for anyone looking to record."

Future plans:
"We just want to keep playing shows and have fun with our friends, and we want to put out more music. Playing out of the province and eventually out of the country is a big goal for us as individuals and as a band, and we can’t wait for the opportunity to do so down the road."

What other bands from their region should we check out?
"Ontario Hardcore is really taking off right now and there are so many bands worth checking out. But to name a few, we would definitely say Gavel, Die Alone, Mile End, Reality Denied, Deadly Game, and Rust. Not only do they rip as bands, but they’ve all been day one supporters of ours.

"The scene is constantly growing and expanding, and there’s some new bands coming out of Hamilton very soon that we can’t wait to play with. All we ask is that you check out and support every local band, especially if they’re new, because that’s how the scene grows and how very cool things happen."
