Their formation story:
(Maria Blair, vocals): "We were all previously in a band together and decided we wanted to try doing something like this because we all love simple, old-school hardcore."
Their sound in their own words:
"We are heavily influenced by '80s hardcore bands. We wanted to capture that old-school sound of the late '80s and add a little grit.
"Our drummer, Curtis, is primarily the brains behind our sound. He always brings riff and drum ideas to the table, and the whole band workshops them from there if we want to add or adjust anything. Some of his biggest current musical influences going into this band are Bad Beat, Raw Brigade, and Face the Pain.
"For me personally, I fell in love with this newer band called Self Interest last year, and it really sparked something in me. I would say they have helped influence my writing and singing style as well (thanks, Kate Edge)."
Latest release info:
"Our goal for the demo was fast, stompy hardcore that you can dance and sing along to. I think we hit our goal, and we are all proud of it, but we're definitely excited to hone in on release number two, as we've all evolved since writing the demo."
Future plans:
"We're trying to hit as many Midwest cities as possible this year. We have a Southern weekend run coming up in August, some super-cool shows at home in Louisville, and a lot of other things in the works for the end of this year and the beginning of next year."
