Band: Burn Channel
From: Boston, Massachusetts
Their formation story:
"Burn Channel formed in 2022, about 30 minutes south of Boston, by longtime friends connected through the local hardcore/metal scene. The band has gone through a few lineup changes over the years, with friends cycling in and out, until it eventually solidified the current roster. While the band takes songwriting seriously, the foundation has always been about just having a good time together.
"Over the past year, the band has been playing out more consistently and released the Year One compilation via Icebreaker Records."
Their sound in their own words:
"We’re a hardcore band at heart, but our sound has a lot of influence from metal, rap, grunge, punk, etc., from the ’90s - ‘00s when we were all growing up. A time when music/tv was more edgy and experimental. Those influences carry into our writing while keeping the values, energy, and aggression we love in hardcore."
Latest release info:
"We dropped two new tracks at the end of January. It’s the first time we recorded everything ourselves, and it’s part of a bigger push toward a full LP. Musically, we leaned harder into fast, aggressive songs and stripped things down compared to our earlier material. Lyrically, the new tracks focus on struggle and conflict — internal battles, external pressure, and the constant push to keep moving forward when things feel like a war on all fronts."
Future plans:
"We’ve got a week-long tour in the works with GratitudeTX in March 2026, heading down to Virginia for a few days, then back up to Detroit."
What other bands from their region should we check out?
"There are so many amazing up-and-coming bands in the underground/DIY music scene right now. And I’m a fan of a lot of them. Boston and New England, in general, have always had bad ass local metal/hardcore bands. But all the shows going on lately are just stacked with talent.
"To name a few, I’d definitely recommend checking out Chain Pulling Man, Cant Lose, Billy, Jugg, Tar, Defy You, Slugs, Jackal, Kirby Kiss, Low Tide, Pure Bliss, and Stab from New Hampshire."
