Viscerated is a brutal death metal band hailing from the United Kingdom. In September, the band released its four-song debut EP, Rotting Golgothan Remains, via Iron Fortress Records.
The recording is a solo project from Tibor Hanyi (Cryptworm, Rothadás, Coffinborn), working under the moniker Disguster. Hanyi has performed with plenty of death metal acts over the years, and his latest project delivers a brutal death metal assault.
Rotting Golgothan Remains clocks in at just over 10 minutes, but the brutality packed within is astonishing, to say the least. Viscerated wastes no time pulling the listener into a world of brutal death metal tremolo picking and perfectly placed blast beats.
The vocals are as guttural as they come, and Hanyi does a great job of mixing up the riffs throughout. Rotting Golgothan Remains is by no means a slam death metal release, instead falling more along the lines of early Deeds of Flesh or Devourment.
The album was mixed and mastered by Januaryo Hardy at Insidious Soundlab, with artwork and logo by Jon Zig. Photography of Andy Vincent was handled by Paper Anchor Media, with BeckyKat photographing Tibor Hanyi.
I interviewed Hanyi about Viscerated, the project’s plans for the future, and much more.
