Born Sinner: NYHC Band Returns with Two Wicked New Tracks

"We were right smack dab in the middle of recording when it all happened. Our plan was to top off two more new ones and release a new 4-song EP before the summer. Then the virus hit New York City and everything ground to a halt."

That quote above comes from Darren Nanos, 1/5th of NYHC band Born Sinner.

Last featured on No Echo back in 2018, Born Sinner features musicians who have also been in such groups as Super Natural Psycho, Brain Slug, and Outskirts. The two tracks Darren spoke about above—"Stagnation" and "Pressure Weighs"—can be be heard below in all their furious glory:

Darren continued: "Through the uncertainty of this wicked world, one thing that helps stay sane is the music in our lives. If we can't play it, at least we can listen to it. We thought about it and decided maybe now is as good a time as any to share at least part of our new record. We could all use a little distraction and normalcy if we can get it.

"The other thing that hit more than half our band right now is unemployment. That part isn't fun, but shit happens and it could be much worse. The way we see it there are people out there risking their own health everyday to help others going through this pandemic. That is why we would like to encourage everyone to purchase this digital single as we will be donating any money collected to the NYC Health + Hospitals Network. We truly appreciate the health care workers out there fighting the good fight."

I love hardcore music (and its community).

The Born Sinner tracks are available now on Bandcamp.
