New HC Bands

New Hardcore Band Spotlight: Staple

Band: Staple
From: Los Angeles, California

Their formation story:
(Adrian, vocals): "Initially, I had started a band over COVID where Nick played guitar and I sang but it wasn't working out so i scrapped the songs and started over with a different style. Once i figured out what I was going for and the band name, I hit up Nick again to join and then I asked Juan to play guitar and help write and we just went from there."

Their sound in their own words:
"I'd consider us like '90s chuggy metallic hardcore. The main inspiration for the band was to sound like Strain but just a little heavier and a way darker vibe. I didn't want to be a straight-up beatdown or metalcore band but rather a metallic-leaning hardcore band. I'd say some of Staple's inspiration both musically and aesthetically would be Strain, Integrity, Grimlock, Indecision, Mean Season, Chokehold, and Unbroken."

Latest release info:
"We put out an EP called Act of Faith in February of this year. We recorded it with Andrew of Dead Stare Audio. It was a lot of fun working with him. The reaction so far has been very sick, alot of ppl seem to get the vibe we're going for and its very validating."

Future plans:
"We are currently writing new music that will come out sometime at the end of this year or early next year. We are doing a weekender with Leave No Doubt and Enkased in September, and then we got some shows at the end of the year and early next year that haven't been announced yet."

What are some other bands from their region we should check out?
"Some sick bands from here to check out are Leave No Doubt, Enkased, Bloodshed, Left Hand Path, Pull Your Card, No Way Out, Contract Killer, Firestarter , A.N.T.I, and Upon Stone."

Act of Faith will be coming out soon on CD via Walking On Water (pre-order here).
