"I have always wanted to do vocals for a hardcore band, and this is exactly what I wanted it to sound like." That quote comes from Jimmy Lawson, vocalist of Detroit hardcore band Bad Beat when I profiled them on No Echo last year.

With a sound that brings to mind the raw ferocity of Outbreak and Shark Attack, Bad Beat made their debut in 2023 via a demo and 2-track promo.

The Motor City crew have just signed with Triple B Records, joining a stacked roster alongside the likes of Magnitude, Conservative Military Image, and Restraining Order. Next month will see the release of Bad Beat's debut album, the perfectly titled L.P. 2024.

Whetting the appetite, Bad Beat have just released two tracks from the forthcoming album: "Not Like You" and "Big Mouth on You":

Oh, if those vocals on "Not Like You" sound a bit familiar, they're supplied by none other than Greg Falchetto (Hold My Own, The Mongoloids).

Check out the album's sick cover art by Never Ending Game bassist Denis Halilovic:

L.P. 2024 will be on May 10th via Triple B Records (pre-order).
